Registration is coming! We are working on final adjustments to the registration site and we hope to have that up and ready for you within the week!
Changes to be aware of:
- Uniform is now black shorts/pants with a red shirt and any comfortable shoes (no flip flops, please)!
- Post game party will be held at the Student Union this year from 3-6 p.m. We are looking into a taco bar!
We are so fortunate to be able to provide some instruments to our alums for reunion weekend. These instruments are used year after year and require maintenance such as removing dents, oiling slides and valves, replacing/repairing pads, etc. We want to ensure that the instruments remain in good working condition so that each year we have as many available as needed for alums to borrow in order to participate in the marching portion of the reunion weekend.
Currently, we charge $15/rental. On average, we rent 35 instruments per reunion weekend. We went ahead and repaired/cleaned all alumni instruments this summer- thanks, Palmer Music! The total cost of this project was just under $5300. We would like to keep these instruments in good working condition as well as keep the rental cost at $15/instrument. Therefore, we would like to ask you all for additional donations for this substantial cost. You can send a check to us (PO Box 6266 Lincoln, NE 68506) or when you register for reunion weekend, donate in the “other” category and write in “instrument repair fund”. We would greatly appreciate it!
Moore, Jeannie M. Dec 9, 1969 – May 23, 2018 Jeannie’s passion in life was her music. A piano player and trumpet player, Jeannie was a graduate of Omaha Westside High School where she played in the award winning Concert Jazz Band. She was a member of The University of Nebraska Cornhusker Marching Band and The Railmen Drum and Bugle Corps. Later, she and her husband were members of The Nebraska Wind Symphony. Preceded in death by grandparents, Martin and Mildred Werner and Edwin and Wilma Peterson; father-in-law, Deacon Fred W. Moore. Survived by husband, Stephen F. Moore; step-daughter, Alexandra S. Moore; parents, Robert and Peggy Peterson; siblings, Ronald Peterson (Sabrina Bedard) and Julie (William) Kelty; mother-in-law, Rosemarie Franks Moore. MEMORIAL MASS: Saturday, June 2, 2018, at 1pm at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 6116 Dodge St, Omaha. Internment: Calvary. Family will direct memorials.

Jane A. Ferguson, 59, of Omaha, Neb., passed away on Thursday, March 22, at her home in Omaha, Neb.
Jane was born on March 19, 1958, to Robert and Leota (Storz) Ferguson in Council Bluffs.
Jane graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs. She attended college at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, earning a bachelor’s degree in science. In college, Jane was a member of the marching band.
Jane had a very creative mind and wrote several manuscripts. She loved the University of Nebraska football.

The University Libraries will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Archives and Special Collections with a series of presentations.
February 15th is about the history of the Cornhusker Marching Band. All presentations are 1 to 2 p.m. in the Adele Hall Learning Commons in Love Library North.
The presentations will feature a member of the University Archives team available to discuss a topic from university history and answer questions. Each Archives Afternoon will feature photographs, artifacts and documents. Members of the university community are encouraged to stop in at any time during the hour-long chats.
Archives Afternoons will be offered every third Thursday of the month in the spring and fall semesters. Scheduled dates and topics in the series include:
- Jan. 18 — Student organizations
- Feb. 15 — Cornhusker Marching Band
- March 15 — Women in agriculture
- April 19 — Collecting Willa Cather
- August — Date and topic to be announced
- Sept. 20 — Husker athletics
- Oct. 18 — Scrapbooks
- Nov. 15 — Storage media
